The community of Campbelltown will benefit from funding of $184,700 the refurbishment of Karitane's outdoor toddler play-therapy space at the Campbelltown Early Parenting Service under the NSW Government’s Infrastructure Grants program, Member for Campbelltown, Greg Warren has announced.
Mr Warren said the funding would help Karitane continue its work supporting young families in and around Campbelltown.
“Karitane do invaluable work in our community, and this support will allow them to continue to deliver their services to the highest standard” Mr Warren said.
“I thank Karitane for their contributions to our community and cannot wait to see the impact that this project will have.”
Mr Warren said 45 projects across NSW would share in $6.6 million under the latest round of funding under the NSW Government’s Infrastructure Grants program.
These include community projects across sport and recreation, arts and culture, disaster readiness and community infrastructure.
The NSW Government’s Infrastructure Grants program is made possible by ClubGrants Category 3, a fund which re-invests profits from gaming machines at registered clubs into community projects.
Since 2015, more than 780 community projects have been awarded $124 million under the funding program.
Minister for Gaming and Racing David Harris said this round of Infrastructure Grants included a wide range of much-needed projects, including sport and recreation facilities, disaster readiness, community infrastructure, and arts and culture.
“These grants support local communities with projects that help rebuild community spirit by increasing participation in sports and recreation, encouraging participation in the creative arts and museums, and helping communities prepare for natural disasters.”
“We received a large number of funding applications in this round, all of which were extremely worthy projects, and I commend all of those who committed their time and energy into preparing such high-quality submissions.”
Applications for the next round of funding open in the new financial year.
